C & C++ Interview Questions You'll Most Likely Be Asked

This book has two parts, a series of technical questions about the programming languages C & C++ and then a set of generic questions such as "Why did you leave your last job?" and "What qualities do you look for in a boss?" The technical questions are almost totally about C++ and delve into some of the more difficult fundamental features of the language, although not to any depth. Some example questions are:

*) What is RTTI?
*) What is name mangling in C++?
*) When should you use multiple inheritance?

The best aspect of this book is that reading the questions about C++ will cause you to think through your recollection and knowledge of the subject matter. Many developers program in one language for some time and then switch over to another, specifically bouncing between C++ and Java. When this happens there is some knowledge rot in the sense that one forgets some of the more specific details of the language that was left. For me, I have no trouble going from C++ to Java, but going backward requires more significant refreshing of my internal database.
If you are an experienced C++ developer that has gone elsewhere for a time and are about to interview for a return, the C++ questions will give you a quick set of pointers to what you need to review. The generic questions are found in many venues and so are not significantly distinctive.
