Verbal Insights on the GRE General Test

The Graduate Record Examination or GRE was significantly revised in the last half of 2011, reducing all previous preparation materials down to poor quality. This book is a collection of items designed to help the student to prepare for this critical test. While acceptance into graduate programs is generally not dependent on achieving a high score on the GRE, it is a fact that the higher your score on the test, the higher the number of options that you will have. Therefore, choosing not to obtain a book like this and prepare for the test is foolish.
The materials are fairly typical of what appears in books like this, with the first sections being over the various sections of the exam as well as explanations of what to do and what pitfalls to look for. One can be told to read carefully looking for specific flags but nothing truly drives that home like seeing actual examples of what is meant. That is what is done in this book and one or two of those examples could easily repay the cost of the book.
There are three practice tests with full answers included to give the reader an opportunity to work through a set of questions typical of those on the real exam. With so much potentially at stake with this exam, working through a practice test is something that all people facing the exam should do. This book will provide the necessary practice that will allow you to understand the structure and style of the test as well as allow you to learn what you need to learn in order to do well.
