GRE Master Wordlist: 1535 Words for Verbal Mastery

Effective communication begins with knowing the fundamentals of the English language while impressive communication is often made possible by the extent of your vocabulary. All people are impressed by the use of a wide vocabulary and there are some times when an extensive vocabulary is necessary for success.
One of the most significant instances where a wide vocabulary is necessary is when you are taking the verbal portions of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). While a good score on the GRE is not an essential precondition for admission into most graduate schools, many, if not most, programs will question your suitability if you seem unable to handle written communication. Therefore, spending some time studying for the GRE exam is time well spent.
As the title implies, this book contains descriptions of 1535 words considered significant for the GRE. The following are given for each word:

*) Role: noun, verb etc.
*) Pronunciation
*) A few synonyms
*) A few antonyms
*) A sample sentence where the word is used

With so much potentially riding on your performance on the GRE, it is foolish not to spend some time in preparing for the test. This book provides a simple and effective way to do that. People in the work force that engage in written communication will also be aided by performing at least a quick scan of the contents. It is likely that you will find a few words that will spice up your writings.
