If the artist were restricted to a schedule, his ability to perform would be stifled.' Assignment: `Does planning interfere with creativity? Plan and write an essay in which you develop your point of view on this issue. Support your position with reasoning and examples taken form your reading, studies, experience, or observation.' The student may answer in the affirmative or the negative or take a balanced approach - and the examples for each of these three alternatives is given with a complete sample essay following that demonstrates the prompt and assignment.

This is a different approach in preparing for an essay question and after reading the entire book of 50 sample prompts and possible responses the student just has to `get it' because it becomes so natural.
