This book gives you the answers to some commonly ( and not so common) asked questions.

The technical/Domain round is cleared and now it is the turn for the HR interview round!! You have no idea, whats coming your way and that is something that makes you even more anxious and stressed. This book aims to alleviate some of that with its sack full of questions around Creativity, Leadership, Teamwork, Personality, Goals, Decision Making, communication etc. It will not only give you the answers to some commonly ( and not so common) asked questions, but also will nudge you to think about other situations to which you can relate to in order to answer the HR questions. The book not only explains HOW one should answer these questions, but also is backed by a relevant example. I Particularly liked the interview questions/answers mentioned in the Teamwork and Decision Making sections.

HR Interview Questions Youll Most Likely Be Asked (Third Edition)

I would say that HR is the toughest round in most interviews for technical positions. Even for the non-technical positions, it becomes tough due to a simple reason. We are taught our subject to something like 2-4 years, but we know almost nothing of organizational behavior (which is a subject in management), or teamwork and similar skills. This difference in hard and soft skills is often a major differentiator between the candidate who gets selected and those who face a rejection.

More often than not the students who go to face interviews learn it the hard way. First, they get rejected a few times, and then maybe by trial and error method they guess what might be the correct response to a question. Using this book a lot of time and energy can be saved that way. Besides the mental stigma, pressure or the frustration which comes from not being selected in a job interview can be avoided too. Considering that the book is not priced exorbitantly.

Its a pretty thin volume of 15 chapters that deal with subjects like team-work, decision making, creative and customer service related questions, communication and why the knowledge of the company is needed. The questions that might be asked are more important than the answers provided. Do keep in mind that the answers need to suit your situation, and look genuine. So you will have to work on how you phrase them. The answers which have been provided are just a pointer and they tell the reader what is expected when that question is posed.

Keeping it in libraries where a lot of students can access it would be beneficial. Job seekers or those planning to change/switch jobs, would want to look through this book.

HR Interview Questions Youll Most Likely Be Asked (Third Edition)

I have tried a few similar books before but on comparing this with the other books I can easily say this is one the best books a person can use to prep for his placement interviews. Ill be having my placement Interviews in the coming week and I feelpretty confident for the HR round. The language used is simple but also very well structured.
