Dr. DeAnna Kimbrel-Hopkins breaks down complex topics like cultural intelligence, equity, and inclusive team-building into accessible, actionable strategies. The book balances research-based insights with real-world application, making it useful for new and experienced leaders. Workplace culture is so lost nowadays and this is a book all about leadership and how to manage a team. Finding new ways to make the whole team feel unified isn’t easy, but there are plenty of tips and tricks in here to get after and start adopting into your ways right away.Good leadership isn’t easy to come by and has to start with being willing to attack it head on and finding new strategies. This is a good book to learn from.
I picked up this book hoping to get a better grasp on what inclusive leadership actually looks like in practice, and it delivered. I really liked how practical it was. You can tell the author really wants leaders to succeed, not just in business, but in building workplaces where people feel seen and valued. The section on empathy in leadership hit home for me. It’s easy to talk about empathy, but this book actually shows you how to lead with it in real situations. I wish there were more real-life case studies or stories from leaders who’ve applied these principles. The content is strong, but a few more personal examples would’ve made it even more relatable. This book is like a leadership tune-up for the modern workplace. It’s thoughtful, practical, and full of insights that help you lead with intention and impact. Very timely read for sure.
A must-read for any leader committed to creating a workplace where every voice is valued. This practical guide breaks down how to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion into core leadership strategies while fostering trust, empathy, and effective communication. Readers will gain actionable insights on building cultural intelligence, adapting leadership styles to support diverse teams, and strengthening collaboration through respectful dialogue. More than just theory, this book equips leaders with the tools to navigate today’s complex business environment with confidence and compassion. If you want to unlock the full potential of your team and lead in a way that inspires growth, respect, and innovation, this book is an invaluable resource.
The book covers essential aspects of inclusive leadership with real-world applications. While I wish it had more case studies, the core concepts and frameworks are strong. Great for both new and experienced leaders.
