The book would provide a good introduction for newcomers to BI and for managers. I like the way she approaches projects by starting with the desired KPIs. What we find useful is mocking up some data with Excel or even Power BI Desktop to show users what we're talking about and to demonstrate the potential KPIs. I liked the way the book leaned into prescriptive analytics as well. This is an area that so many books ignore.
-- Dr. Greg Low
Consultant, Public Speaker, and Member of Microsoft RD Program in Australia
Absolutely valuable book that can help to structure your knowledge in data science and data analytics. If you are at advanced level, the book may be not for you however if you are looking to shape your experience or interested in switching career to date rekated, this book is a great help. It can provide an overview of the field, present a structured knowledge set and give a good understanding.
-- Darya Yegorina, DBA - Chief of Staff Strategy & Sales Ops, Verizon
Thanks for the opportunity to review this book. A really good introduction to data analytics, set out logically and sequentially building knowledge and understanding as I read. I was able to put into practice what I was learning and really appreciated the summary and quizzes.
Recommend.
-- Emma Dresser, Senior Project Manager
Every function of an organization can benefit from analytics. Dr. Michael Walsh has and his book 'HR Analytics Essentials' provides a helpful framework for establishing and using analytics to support the Human Resources function and key decision-making. This book is a good tool for individuals in the field of H.R. and managers.
-- Leslie Yerkes, President, Catalyst Consulting Group, Inc.
This book provides a good, basic overview of HR analytics that is easy to understand and is not overly technical. It could be a useful supplement to an introduction to HR text used in an undergraduate class to provide additional coverage of HR analytics which is especially important to the strategic role of HR in organizations.

This combo exceeded my expectations. As an HR professional aiming to become data-savvy, the HR Analytics book gave me clear direction. The data analytics and BI books were also very informative without being overwhelming. An excellent self-study combo.
I loved the practical approach throughout all three books. The content is industry-relevant and great for building foundational knowledge in BI, HR, and data analytics. This is a solid investment for anyone serious about career growth in business and tech.
The books are thoughtfully laid out, beginner-friendly, and focused on practical application. They help create a strong base in HR analytics and data analysis concepts. Perfect for students, new analysts, and business owners trying to adopt analytics in decision-making.
The Complete Business Toolbox breaks down analytics into digestible, practical content. The HR Analytics section stood out for meconcise and actionable. Could use a few more case studies, but overall a great toolkit for learners and managers alike.
This bundle is an absolute must-have for professionals entering the world of data-driven business. Each book is well-structured, clearly written, and packed with relevant examples. I especially liked how Business Intelligence and HR Analytics connected theory with real-world case scenarios. Highly recommended for corporate learners and MBA students.
