The book would provide a good introduction for newcomers to BI and for managers. I like the way she approaches projects by starting with the desired KPIs. What we find useful is mocking up some data with Excel or even Power BI Desktop to show users what we're talking about and to demonstrate the potential KPIs. I liked the way the book leaned into prescriptive analytics as well. This is an area that so many books ignore.
-- Dr. Greg Low
Consultant, Public Speaker, and Member of Microsoft RD Program in Australia
Absolutely valuable book that can help to structure your knowledge in data science and data analytics. If you are at advanced level, the book may be not for you however if you are looking to shape your experience or interested in switching career to date rekated, this book is a great help. It can provide an overview of the field, present a structured knowledge set and give a good understanding.
-- Darya Yegorina, DBA - Chief of Staff Strategy & Sales Ops, Verizon
Thanks for the opportunity to review this book. A really good introduction to data analytics, set out logically and sequentially building knowledge and understanding as I read. I was able to put into practice what I was learning and really appreciated the summary and quizzes.
Recommend.
-- Emma Dresser, Senior Project Manager
Every function of an organization can benefit from analytics. Dr. Michael Walsh has and his book 'HR Analytics Essentials' provides a helpful framework for establishing and using analytics to support the Human Resources function and key decision-making. This book is a good tool for individuals in the field of H.R. and managers.
-- Leslie Yerkes, President, Catalyst Consulting Group, Inc.
This book provides a good, basic overview of HR analytics that is easy to understand and is not overly technical. It could be a useful supplement to an introduction to HR text used in an undergraduate class to provide additional coverage of HR analytics which is especially important to the strategic role of HR in organizations.
-- Loren Kuzuhara, University of Wisconsin-Madison

This combo is truly the complete toolbox for anyone navigating todays data-driven business landscape. Each book dives deep into its subjectBusiness Intelligence, HR Analytics, and Data Analyticswith practical examples and self-learning aids. I especially liked how the content is beginner-friendly yet sophisticated enough for experienced professionals. A fantastic resource for both strategic and technical decision-making!
I was impressed by the clarity and structure of each book in this set. The HR Analytics section was particularly insightful for understanding people-centric data, while the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics books offer practical tools and case studies. The language is easy to understand, making it suitable for students as well. I deducted one star as it could use a few more advanced case studies, but overall, its an excellent value combo!
